different ecus... 850s had bosch motronic 4.3 & 70's have 4.4..... i have always been led to believe you need either a code reader or software for 70 series cars

the code reader you have built is a flash code reader, which reads codes via a obd11 port, it is not a obd11 reader.... a Pnut quite rightly points out your car has a 4.4 motronic and will need a obd11 code reader, not a flash code reader..... confused?....lol i know i am.....:speechless-smiley-6 cheers jod

Flash code = count the flashes on a LED. The car has an OBDII socket, but not the electronics to suport it. Code reader = electronic jiggery thingy that plugs into the OBDII socket and displays the codes. Only for cars that support OBDII.
