thanks for the quick reply...i've got another question, not really about stats but im here so...guage and drf affect the output filesize the most right?, im wondering which has more of an effect, and is there a point where adjusting these settings too much will affect the quality? im currently using: guage at 45, 50, 85 drf 2,8 keyframe quality 4,24 10% motion based curve mod. 310/4000 high/low pass 0% symetric 100%scd luma corr. enabled (default) and all other settings default thanks again

Hi natami- Sorry-those questions are out of my league. When using DivX3 I was always a lazy GKnot user. However, you might check out if you haven't seen it already.

yes, drf's and gauge affect the filesize a lot. are u encoding to 2 cds or 1? if 2cds u'r max drf could be lower...maybe min 2 and max 4-6. not sure though what this will do to the output size with a high gauge like that. of course u could always test it and if filesize is too big compare a rip with u'r gauge and drfs settings to a second with lower gauge and lower drfs. u'r keyframe quality can be brought down a little too... actually i've been recently told that 2min and 4max are fine here. for 2 cds of course. i'm not much help when it comes to 1 cd rips, sorry. im doing neither 1cd nor 2cd encoding...its for an anime episode...23 mins and i want filesize ~233mb, 3 eps/cd so i guess that would be closer to 1 cd quality? (~69mins @ ~700mb) these settings give me a filesize of 246mb, so i know i need to sacrifice a little bit of quality to get the size down, i was just wondering which setting had more of an effect :) thanks for the input
