Hello there, I read in the magazine called c't an article about InstantCopy from VOB/Pinnacle. The software seemded to be very good although it was only an alpha version. A 1:1 copy could be made - menus could be kept. So I wanted to try this software and regarded my own version: I had a newer one...so I should make it. Now I have to see that my version has must be another one - I can only make a copy of data dvds. Does anyone of you know when the correct version will be available? Thanks for your answers!
I have the possibility to test a press release of InstantCopy7 right now. Here are some things that i noticed while testing: - no internal de-css, so dvd decrypter is needed - does dvd -> dvd-+r(w), dvd-+r(w) -> harddisk, harddisk -> dvd-+r(w), harddisk -> harddisk conversion - you can strip languages and / or subtitles - you can specify the output filesize of the movie and each of the extras manually - it does a 5 pass quality analysis before encoding starts - converts the menus (looks like you can't disable the inclusion of the menu) all this looks very nice... i was told that instandcopy and dvd2one use kind of the same method of reducing filesize, but there is a big difference in speed here! testdvd: lort1 special edition disc1 dvd2one needs ~ 18 minutes to convert disc1 with 2 audio tracks ic7 is running for about 1h and there is still 43 minutes encoding time left, encoding menus and one audiotrack only so it seems that ic7 is MUCH slower than dvd2one so we need a good quality comparison now (hope mb1 get's his hands on this one and writes a good article about it like he did with dvd2one vs. cce) more later... greetz, _SiNnEr_
