Hello there nice people, Yes, a PC user here... I'd like to ask for your assistance, as Mac is totally new to me ; 1)started porting my worlflow over to our studio's G4/OSX/HD3 system a couple of days ago. So far I'm able to get in and out of PT (6.1) and of course run the sessions, as I do use PT LE 6.11 @ home. However, I really hate the little round Apple mouse, they have. >>can I simply bring in my Microsoft or Logitec 2 button + scrollwheel device ( USB/optical ) and just plug and go ?? Will the rightclick/scroll functions available here ?? 2) I did purchase an external 120 GB WD Caviar HD (FW enclosure ), just to move my sessions back and forth. Have "MacDrive5" installed on my home PC, and able to open those sessions. With some assistance I was able to partition it as two HFS+ volumes and it works, as a valid recording drive in OSX. However, just would like to perform a full, low level format on it with OS9 compatibilty enabled. >>can some one please ( w/cherry on top ) give me a step by step instruction as just how to achieve that ?? Like...go here>pull down that>>select this...etc, thanx in advance, cheers and happy tooling,

Hello Lemix, Most mice today (many of the cordless ones included) are MAC and WIN compatible but I would make sure it is MAC compatible -or go buy one because not all WIN mice will work on the MAC. And, Logitech does offer a lot of options for buttons and wheels on the Macintosh. To set up that drive in OSX click the disk where your sytem files reside and then go to "applications" then "utilities" and then "disk utility" and make your selections to said disk to set that puppy up. Please back EVERYTHING first--which I'm sure your on top of. Good Luck! L.A.Branville

I Don't believe that the disk utility will do a low level format. SCSI drives used to come with software to do this. Haven't seen anything for Firewire. Frankly, unless you've had problems with the drive, a low level format is usually unnessesary.
