This one was a bit tricky.. but still simple, you will not have to re-mux or rip menues you will need to split it into 2 DVD to retain all menus and full quality, first rip the full cd to your hard drive, when done you will notice that the actually movie is in VTS_05_0 use Ifo-edit and open VTS_05_0.ifo, the is the part you want to split... you just need the following checked 1. Correct Vob-Unit, 2. Correct Orig IFO files, 3. Split to 2 DVD-r.. The split point is already selected for you. When it is done will have VTS_05_X.vob files in both folders. NOW, here is where you are getting that error you will need to go back to the folder where you did the full dvd Rip and copy all the files that are not in the folder that IFO edit made like VTS_01_X.VOB THRU VTS_07_X.VOD but do not get vts_05_x.vod since ifo-edit have already made it for you. After that Open Video_TS.IFO and get vts sectors a couple of times and there you go! you are done, the movie will run fine for you. Remember that you will need to adjust the number of chapter on dvd 1 on and dvd 2 and also will need to make DVD 2 - autostart when you swap dvds. Enjoy.

Thanx for the input but it didn't work. Cause that was the way i tried it. Also my DVD had other VOB-files on it than yours. But again thanx for thinking with me. Greetz, Preddy....

This is what I did and it works very well: 1. I am using IFOEdit 0.91. I find it more stable (i.e. does not produce strange output) than later releases. I am currently doing some tests to investigate the causes of these problems. 2. First, I loaded VTS_05_0.IFO. By examining PGC_1, I noticed that I need VOB IDs 1,2,5 & 6. VOB IDs 3 & 4 contain Angles 2 & 3 which I do not want. And I do not wish to keep VOB IDs 7 and on. 3. I used VOB Extras to strip all audio & subpict streams except English with 6-ch. I only checked VOD IDs 1,2,5,6. I placed the result into a temp\VIDEO_TS folder. This is a "movie only" strip. By the way, I also checked remove Angle and select to keep Angle 1. 4. Then I used the DVD Play button to randomly check various chapters to make sure the resulting movie is OK. You may want to play out the entire movie to convince yourself that everything is still OK. 5. I then created 2 temp folders (temp1\VIDEO_TS and temp2\VIDEO) to prepare for the splitting of the movie. I used VOB Extras again (on temp\VIDEO_TS) and checked Split to 2 DVD-Rs. I entered the 2 temp folders as destinations. I chose to split it at Chapter 29. At this time, there is only 1 audio stream and only 1 VOB ID. So make sure they are checked. 6. When it was done, I have the first part of the movie with 28 chapters (in temp1\VIDEO_TS) and the second part 22 chapters (in temp2\VIDEO_TS). Chapter 51 is a layer break. So I skipped it in step 3 (by unchecking VOD ID 7). 7. I got out of IFOEdit. Then I copied VIDEO_TS.* from temp\VIDEO_TS into temp1\VIDEO_TS nad temp2\VIDEO_TS. 8. At this time, if you go back into IFOEdit, you should be able to play either part of the movie, except there is a small problem. The number of chapters shown in the chapter menu is incorrect. It will show a max of 50 and it is wrong. Remember we split the movie in step 6 to 1 part with 28 chapters and another part with 22 chapters. In both cases, you'll need to load the respective VIDE_TS.IFO file and under VMG_PTT_SRPT look for a line that is Number of hapters (PTTS). You need to change it to the correct value by double clicking on that line. And do not forget to save the the file because you have just changed it. 9. The I used the create image button to produce an image which I use DVDDecrypter to burn the DVD. If you are unsure of yourself, try using a DVD-RW disk. It can be less costly in the long run. Well, that is what I did with Star Wars EP2 in a nutshell. I have used the same procedure for The Sound of Music, and ET too. They all work just fine. Hope this help. Good Luck.

ecsi r u working with NTSC R1 or Pal R2 SWEP2? I have given up on finishing this project simply because I can't locate the english "alien language" subtitles. I already have a demuxed m2v exactly to size, and the ac3 audio. I just need to get these thirty or so subtitles to complete it and get it authored in Maestro. Do you know how to locate and extract them? TIA JF
