when using automation envelopes, sometimes they are unusable because the values are too small. i would like to suggest a scaling function on the automation envelope so you can fine-adjust it, especially given that many plugins seem to have a logarithmic curve to their parameters (such as decibels, and EQs, etc) my best to the geniuses!
maybe envelopes could be right clicked and have a "envelope view curve/logarithm" selection, kind of like the way eq's have theirs. that way, its non destructive, it just changes the way you see that particular envelope.

i notice that there is plenty of room underneath the automation envelope fader for another fader that we can call "envelope bias" if the fader is all the way to the left... --[]------------------ then that means the "detail" of the envelope widens and shifts down to the lower end and the upper end of the envelope thins out. if the fader is in the middle... ----------[]---------- then the envelope is just a constant slope, just like old times! if the fader is to the right.... -------------------[]- then, the "detail" of the envelope widens near the top and gets negligible down at the lower bottom envelopey area and such. this allows us to change the heck out of our envelopes at any resolution, on the fly. later we can have fancy things like stair steps and or beizer curves. all this is doing is putting a logarithmic function on the Y-axis of the envelope's graphical output. easy enough for a lunkhead like me, probably much easier for a real genius to implement! cheers!!!

Sounds like a great idea! At the moment if you have your automation volume set to give you plus 6 dB this 6dB is just impossible to automate from a hardware fader as it's way too sensitive! :)
Since it unfortunately won't be in v4 I have to bump this. I really don't get it how people can live without that :( One should be able to set the max/min values and the resolution of the automation. At the moment it's absolutely unusable when you need to edit small ranges for a big value (e.g. try to automate readelay length from 0 to 10ms >.< )
