Hi all, First I'd quickly like to introduce myself. I'm Technical Director (CTO in US-speak, or Geek-In-Chief) at UK audiosoftware developer FXpansion. Some of you may have read about our new plugs, "MindFX vol1 and 2" coming to PTLE/Windows in the next couple of months. You can see some more "taster" info. on those at - I'm sure those of you in to sound design or electronic / dance styles of music will be delighted Anyways, the reason for this post is not that stuff, but one of our slightly older products that we're looking at bringing to the RTAS/Windows world. DR-008 is a very affordable "clip sampler" and sampling drum machine that plugs in to your PTLE studio. It's got 96 memory slots for samples and beats, and is fully programmable. It lets you trigger individual hits or patterns from a groove library, all under MIDI control. Anyways, basically, I just wanted to gauge the level of interest on that sorta' thing here. You can read a bit more about it on our Web site at - please let us know if you'd find something like this useful, as the RTAS/Windows version is "up for discussion" right now. Get it now, get it quick, just my simply advice. Right now there are very few synth/sampler plugs for ptle on windows. I think if you have a good product for a nice price you will get a lot of buyers. Look at IK-multimedia with sampletank and amplitube.

What can I say? From everything I have heard, the word of mouth etc., the Dr 008 is THE drum sampler to own, and so I would think that as more people around here caught wind of it they would surely be interested since drum sampler/synths have utility beyond any one genre of music, and there are none for the platform as of the moment. I would love to own the dr 008 if it was in rtas; the mindfx look pretty darned sharp as well.

Thanks for the feedback - keep it coming. We're looking very seriously at this and we have the technology to do so very fast (already did the work for MindFX, so applying it to DR-008 is easy). Let's have a show of hands!
