Don't know where I've been the last while -- Reaper's been under my Radar (RADAR? :-). Just installed it about an hour ago -- WOW In reference to the title of this post, this message is probably a number of seperate posts in various forums, but it's Saturday and I'm feelin' lazy :-). Besides this format gives more of an introductory flavor of who I am -- "Yeah right -- now he REALLY sounds like he's tryin' to sell us somethin" I'm a professional programmer who's had it up to here with the commercial DAW's out there (Cubendo, PT, Logic, etc.) -- looking for something reasonable. I have recently done work on Faderport, the Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 console, and Electrix Repeater, and for lot's more bux and all those corporate deadlines, feature mangling, politics, that you guys and I hate so much, Merril Lynch, Fidelity, Boeing, blah blah blah. So from what likely shouild be in the compatibility forum. I use Ivory, Drumcore, Kompakt, and probably soon Ocean Way Drums, and UAD-2 (gave up my UAD-1 when I switched to PT and its lack of delay compensation -- mucho big mistake!) as well as a lot of audio -- usually 8-16 tracks simultaneously to get that live off the floor feel. Any known issues? I'm a sucker for superb sound quality -- grew up on Studer 2" -- Neve consoles, 1176's, Pultecs, you get the picture. Now a weekend warrior with Great River, Sebatron, Soundelux, AT 4050, Crane Song, blah blah blah. How does this thing sound when summing large mixes? Already had a feature bitch and moan ready to go about true stereo pan (power pan) but a quick forum search indicated there's a plug that solves that -- cool Also got some free cycles to help with the programmimg if needed, Years and Years of high end pro OO, with extreme quality code, blah, blah, feel free to tap my shoulder. -- Geoff

used to have a bit about applying for jobs but it seems to have gone. I guess they are happy on that front at present, but their postal address is there.

wow, nice to meet you :) there ARE ways you can use your skills to help the community - not sure about employment - but you can always check out the reaper programming API and extensions .... not to mention JS! hope you enjoy your stay here.

Welcome to the fun. You're in company of many experienced other-DAW users, in many cases former ones. I'm a regular PT user for post production myself. There are plenty of things to write as you get more and more accustomed to Reaper. Xenakios and Sws have already made some very useful extensions, and you'll find a lot more chatter around the dev side of things in its forum. Take a seat and carve your space in to Reaper. It may a take while, but we're all here to support each other.
