To obtain best vehicle stability & access to front susp / engine & transmission, you should jack at lower arm rear pivot to subframe. Then place your axle stands under the standard sill jack points. This gives you supprt at the widest point of the car and hence best stability. Sounds obvious but only do this on level solid ground. The jack can be inserted right behind the front tyre (if your stands are not too big). It is also advisable to use a piece of wood on the top of the jack to protect the underside of your vehicle. As usual engage either hand brake or gear, and chock wheels remaining on the gound to prevent vehicle movement. Also if you are paranoid, it does no harm to place the road wheels, if removed, under the sills of the vehicle out of the way, (catch the car if stand fails etc.) Hope this helps. the plate of the subframe where the rear most front lower arm
