hey just a quick question, if im running a 96sample rate session can i put my ADA8000 as an ADAT slave will the ADA8000 sync up to the 96 on the 002r?

No. The ADAT spec only goes up to 48KHz.

ok what about the octane, or is that the same deal? i really just want a 2-channel preamp/ a-d converter either connected via s/pdif(recommended) or ADAT. but isnt going to blow the budget either. any ideas anyone? my sessions are in 96k and i need to record no more than 10tracks at once.

s/pdif? yes. ADAT? no. Unless you're using it as a lightpipe s/pdif. It's a limitation of the particular digital communication format.

2channel Preamps with a-d convertion at 96k

does anyone know a good 1 or 2 channel preamp that converts to 96k via s/pdif that wont break the budget!!??!! i am looking at the Focusrite TT PRO with a/d option Dbx 376 tube pre amp M-audio TAMPA what would be my best option out of them? or does any one know any others?
