This is driving me nuts. Just got a G4, OS X on it, Trying to install Pro Tools LE 6.1 with the Digi 002. Installed fine, but it won't run. Every time I try to start it, it stops at the "Creating DAE objects..." part and gives me this message. "DAE Error 1 encountered". I've searched the answerbase and the forum for answers to this on why this message would occur without any luck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a Firewire drive? Is it before or after the 002 in your chain? Your 002 should always be last (btw) Hope this helps

You do not specify which version of OS X is on your G4. If I'm not mistaken, I don't think Pro Tools LE 6.1 will run under Panther, so if you are running Panther (10.3.x) you should be using version 6.4. If you are running Jaguar (10.2.x), I think the Digi Compatibility specs say that you need at least v 6.1.2 for the 002. I'm not sure if 6.1 will work with the 002 Just make sure you are running a version of Pro Tools LE that is compatible with the hardware you have, and the OSX version you're running.

I'm pretty sure i'm running 6.1 LE on OS X 10.0...I could be wrong though. So would you guys recommend updating pro tools as the next option?

pretty sure? be exact if you want help. the operating system version is easy to figure out by clicking the blue apple on the left top corner, and selecting "about my mac" from the menu. give the exact 10.x.y version number for troubleshooting. i recommend upgrading to 10.3.4 and using protools 6.4 without the customer service updates. 002 will however run nicely on jaguar and protools 6.0 too, but so far the combination of 10.3.4 and 6.4 is IMHO the best and most stable ever.
