Parsing error?

What did I do wrong here? My drive is bursting at the seams so I decided to start backing up whole projects to disk to hopefully clear old projects out. I did one DVD's worth a while back and thankfully didn't delete the originals. I just went to check if the burned projects worked and as I feared, they do not. I deleted and copied back in one project to its original folder and I now have one project that has the proper files in the proper folder and when I try to open the project I get this error message: "There was an error parsing the specified project" followed by the file path it should find it at, which is where it's at. Is this project screwed or is there something I can do to get Reaper to open it? I have 33 gigs of files eating up valuable space and I want to safely remove them. Edit: I see that I've made two backup disks. All projects on the one disk open without a hitch even thought the originals still exist on another drive but the other disk wont allow me to open any projects on it.

Nobody???... Okay maybe I just used a method to copy files I shouldn't have. Can someone tell me exactly how it's supposed to be done? All wave files, mp3's, and midi files are included within project folders.

Hmm, I don't really understand the report to be honest. The same project opens on one backup disk, but not on another backup disk?

Yes and no. I made two separate dvd backups at two different times. The first one works fine. Every project on it opens without incident every time, but the second disk, albeit totally readable, seems to have something either missing or wrong with the Reaper Project Files on it as none of them will open without the parsing error message I posted, but there are no files common to either disk. They have completely different projects on them. One disk works completely, and the other does not. I've tried every approach to opening them too. Letting them launch Reaper, Launching Reaper first then opening the file from inside. I even made the mistake of copying and pasting a whole project from the disk back into the original folder and overwriting the actual original project files and now that particular project will not open from the hard drive from which it was born. Just what method is proper when doing this type backup? I cannot remember exactly how I did either one but at the moment I would use Roxio Creator Classic to write a data disk and just copy and burn whole project files like I would do any other type of file I would be writing to disk for storage. I've never had any problem using any type of file written this way before.

So the projects on the one disk can't be opened even after they are copied off the disk? Do you want to post one of the RPP files here, or email to support at cockos?
