What do peeps run the tyre pressures at on 855R's with 205/45/17 tyres Volvo book states 41psi front 39 rear, so I put mine to 40 each end earlier (all were circa 31psi), dispite thinking "hmmm that seems high but she is a heavy beast so I'll trust the handbook" and since then I can feel a bit more torque steer - coincidence???

Aren't they the fully laden pressures i.e. more than 3 people plus luggage? I run 38/36 with the car unloaded as I find it a little mushy on the standard pressures. Cheers, John

i run mine at 32 when i first got the car, but they were just too soft. all it's done is speed up the 850's penchant for eating front tyres ! inside and outside shoulders wore very quickly !! tried 40, but it was just a little too hard for the fronts, specially in the wet. now i'm running 36 all round, and the car feels pretty good

I run 33 on front and 32 on rear as the fuel flap says upto 100mph and have had no problems with these pressures on my 855R. Steve

I was looking for an 850R tyre thread........ .......just had to change a leaking tyre for the spare on my 855R. The spare was a Pirelli P Zero Nero 205/45 ZR17 88w. Tyre on car was Nankang Ultra Sport NS II M&S 205/40 R17 Firstly, it seems a little dubious to have a spare with a diferent profile from the other tyres. I presume the Pirelli is the correct tyre size for the car (as shown in the petrol flap). Secondly, this may explain why my spedometer reads fast (lower profile = less diameter = less distance travelled per revolution of the wheel so the car thinks it is going faster than it really is). I am a bit dubious about the M&S rating - I can't see this kind of profile performing in either mud or snow. The obvious difference from the Pirelli is that the Nanking grooves all sweep to the outside of the tyre - there are no parallel grooves in the tyre at all.
