I've got a CD backup of a session done at another studio and I'm trying to open it up here. The problem I'm hitting is that all the file names on the copy are changed from what the session file is looking for. In this case they are all capitalized, any spaces have been removed, and they end in a period often. They will load up if they are searched for by unique ID so the session is recoverable. The problem is that there are about 12 sessions like this. Anybody seen this before? Any solution aside from brute force?

I've seen this before. Its to do with incompatible (spelling?) file systems. I've ssen it going from MAC to a FAT16 formatted PC. The FAT16 system only allows 8 letter file names but windows will internally store aliases - which is why file names you create on your system will allow longer names. either that or the CD has been recorded in that format. something like that anyway !! Any one else care to expand on this further. cheers

The CD must have been made using the ISO9660 format. Have whoever made the CD redo it using the Mac format.
