Hi does anybody else have a or have had a problem with rempeg2 films? my dvd player will play all dvds except rempeg2 films, it just comes up with the message, dirty disc, or it might play but stop every so often and needs a fastfowarding to get it going again,(there is nothing wrong with disc itself because it plays in my brothers machine no bother). Is it just a setting that needs to be changed in rempeg2 to make the film run more smoothley? I have being following the how to transcode a dvd guide on the the doom site the only thing I might have done different to guide is the frame mode, where it says match source I had mine set to progressive only, will this make the difference? but saying that they play alright on my brothers machine.

Those freezes you mentioned happening in movies you rempeged happen because of some bug in ifoedit. when it's time to remux the .m2v with the original vob file you want to use ifoedit v0.6. ~Sy

Sy, Are you saying that when I want to reencode part of a vob. I use rempeg2 with vobedit. I then try to play back the reencoded vob file and it seems to stutter when the picture changes scenes. Is this when a new set of GOP (Group of Pictures) start? Is there a bug in Rempeg2? The picture comes out ok except for the stutters? As you can tell I am a newbie at this stuff.
I am still new to reencoding because I have had so many problems with freezing and I just learned about using ver 6 of ifoedit. But that version is so different I was wondering if somebody could give me step by step instructions after using rempeg to create the m2v file? Please anyone help me...
OK. I just want to rempeg the last vob to fit on one DVD-r. I don't want to spend the time or loss the quality if most of the movie. I can live with the last 10 minutes having some artifacts but not stutters. With this method, can I do one vob file? Is the key here using v0.6 to remux's? if yes, I will give it a try. Thanks for your response. Bob From Sy. " Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.... I finally figured it out: 1. rip 2. strip with v0.932 3. rempeg 4. remux to a new directory with v0.6 5. copy ifo's created in step 2 to new directory 6. Get VTS Sectors with v0.932 7. strip to a final directory 8. Get VTS Sectors with v0.932 9. test 10. Burn ~Sy "
