Welcome to Doom9. What media are you using? Verbatim is the only reasonable DL media - the rest are hit and miss. Make sure your firmware is up to date A106 is the latest for that burner. Regards

As I said before, use Verbatims, or you will be coming back time after time asking "Why didn't my burn work? It used to work. I have had success in the past. It should work now." etc etc. If you want consistent DL burns, use Verbatim - the 2.4x (MKM-001) seem to be the best. Regards

Actually, I'd suggest that the only DL burnable media you should use is Verbatim D/L DVD+R (Not DVD-R)

Exactly the information I was looking for thanks :) ! I have around 120GB of photos and high definition video from a recent trip to backup, and need a decent DVD DL solution. I tried a bunch of Datawrite discs which apparently are just rebranded RiTek, and I used to have a lot of success with the RiTek DVD-R's. From here on in though, it is Verbatims. Don't suppose anyone knows a cheap place to get them in the UK?

for data backup I would rely on these, especially if it was my only copy the number 1 reliable/affordable media too expensive for bulk use

Feels like four parts play in to this problem. * DVD-quality * DVD-burner * Burner hardware * Burning application That is a lot of different crap to troubleshoot and sort out.
