configure reaper for synthedit and synthmaker plugs

was just curious, anybody have lag problems with save as plugins? i seems to be getting some weird playback/lag problem in reaper when using save as type plugs and was wondering if anybody had any tips to offer on how to best get save as plugs to work well in reaper?

It might help to know which plugins cause the problem, if the author packs in too much data it might load slow in Reaper, that's always been like that. I only use my own homemade plugins, and the only one that loads slowly is my convolution one that loads like 8 wavs on startup.

Some playback issues with SE plug-ins (mostly synths) can be solved by Options->Preferences->Plug-ins->VST->"Don't flush synthesizer plug-ins on stop", maybe it helps with yours, too. Other than that, at least all SE plug-ins made before 2009/2010 need to run in their own dedicated process on multicore computers.
