S80 D Auto radio AM

the am aerial is part of the rear window. the other aerial is in the rear bumper on the right hand side somtimes get left unplugged if rear bumper is removed but i think this is only for fm

are you sure? I took the car(when I had some minor vandalism done to my wingmirror) to local independent volvo garage recommended by honest john website. I mentioned radio to him and he found in the boot that an aerial had been left disconnected and he said it was the Fm one but he said he would have to take the bumper off to see if any damage had been done when I had my towbar put on.

Take the nearside C post interior trim panel off, you will see a red box (areial amplifier). From this red box you will see a small black lead running behind the inflatible curtain and onto the rear screen. Remove the connector from the rear screen (just pulls off). Get some carb or brake cleaner on a cloth and clean the elements that run from the connector up and across the screen, give the a through clean. You will have to bend the roof linig down slightly to get across the top elements, be careful no to damage the roof lining.
