Having just bought a Dell Inspiron 9200, I kept on wondering why the fans were on all the time and found to my horror that PT uses 100% CPU all the time - what's going on? Is there a solution? From reading other posts here, there doesn't seem to be.
My Gateway 600 (P4M) laptop does the same thing only in Pro Tools. I can run Tracktion and have plenty of room to spare. My fan is so loud that people can hear it on the phone.
It's definitely a Digdesign issue. If I use my MBox/ASIO driver with Sonar, the same thing happens. However, CPU is normal when using Sonar with my Echo Indigo card.Is this not a problem for anybody else? I contacted a UK DAW builder and was told its 'normal'.
hello! it's sad isn't it!! I've just bought a new laptop, pentium M ,which should be highly compatible with Digidesign products, and fans are running at full speed once I start running my protools LE 6.4. My dealer told me it might be the compatibility with SP2, but I don't know. I 'm considering trying my friends soundcard (different brand) If it works fine it's byebye Mbox and protools! This is starting to get on my nerves! I'm loosing creative vibes because of this issue!! And why was it so hard to find an issue forum on this matter. There should be alot of users facing this problem
