I haven't gotten acceptable results with Reafir yet. When I move the noise print threshold high enough to get it to actually reduce noise, the result is always too artifact-y. :(

Yeah, Adobe Audition was bought while it was Cool Edit. You can still find freeware versions of Cool Edit that have that original FFT cleaner in them, still very powerful! And thats from like 1996.
Izotope RX is of excellent quality. I use it on dialog tracks sometimes, and at $350 it's a steal. Or you can go real-time and get a Cedar DNS3000 unit. AES/EBU I/O, 10 samples latency and scene-snapshotable settings via ethernet(PT only so far I think). Goes for around 6000 Euros. If it's your business, worth every penny ten times over. If you have real money to burn, treat yourself to a Cedar Retouch system. That's stuff some folks use in forensics and reconstruction of old audio, but there are more systems, including a rack unit from Izotope. Z-Noise is very competent indeed. If you're on a budget, the RX bundle will get you the most bang for the buck, but it never hurts to have more than one tool in your arsenal. =edit= Apart from its stellar quality and versatile tools, Izotope also gives you a choice of what type of authorization you want to use. Challenge/Response, or iLok. Those nice folks let me have both actually. Great company.
