I exploded a drum track to individual tracks and it cut off the first note of both the kick pattern and the hi-hat pattern. The downbeat was missing and I had to draw it back in.

Can you ZIP up a small project file or the unexploded drum clip (or, at least, the first few bars) and post it here as an attachment so we can have a look at it and see what's (not) happening?

Confirmed here. Notes at the very start of the clip, no matter where it is, are not exploded. I have a feeling it is related somehow to the calculation of the start position of the notes - maybe they are coming up as starting slightly before the clip start and so are ignored. How did you create the clip? If I "Glue" the clip or nudge the three notes to 1.1.001 or copy the notes into an empty clip then they do explode as expected. Please raise it in the Issue Tracker, with your test project attached, so that the devs can reproduce the problem.

"Start in source" in the "Media item properties" shows "0:00.000", but item chunk shows something else: Code:

and Glueing sets that to 0 0. SOFFS = Source offset ?? It would be good to know how / where that MIDI clip was created.

I recorded it live with midi overdub, overdubbed a few times to create the full track.

If you glue the midi item before exploding it works.

Try this script with your item. It resets the source offset to default. Advantage: Glue would glue multiple selected items together to one file. This script does not do it. It just resets. Tested it with your file and it was working great here. Save this text as a .eel file and import it into the actions list. Code:
