S40 Specific Subwoofer box.

Anyone know where I'll get one ? Standard box I've got will take up too much room so looking for something to go into either of the rear side area's ?? Free thanks for all who help :D

I have a standard box for a 10" sub in the boot and it's not too intrusive. Otherwise I think you are looking at a custom fibreglass job, which may save you a couple of inches, but cost you a lot of money.

Not too fussed if it costs a fair bit, as I will need the space :( It's more to gain useable space than the extra few inches, if you get what I mean by that ??

Mine is mounted in the recess on the driver's side in the boot. I don't find it intrudes too much.

My sub and amp are cut into ply board. mine does take up alot of room but u could make it to whatever size and shape u want. A jigsaw, a ply board and a bit of vehicle carpet and ur sorted.

You could try the parts gateway for an original, I've found them very useful.

They don't make them for the Volvo specifically but contact them, i'm sure they would be willing to assist you

I will certainly take some pics when i get time. Maybe tomorrow night. It's just one of those cheap sub boxes mounted upside down (depending on your perspective). I have the amp mounted on top and the wiring and distribution boxes on the far side so you can't see much of it. I also fitted a 12v socket so that i can plug in our coolbox. I am not going to claim it's pretty but it certainly does the job and has been in since last april. I can still lift the floor up to get access to the spare wheel so I considered it the best solution for very little cost.
