Track rename

I know very little about lua but I'd like to write a script that renames tracks. To start, adding prefixes and suffixes. Eventually find and replace as well as sequential numbering. I'm guessing the best way to start is dissection. Is there good script I can start with and modify to learn? Any recommendations?
