I think the object editor has some great stuff Reaper could use to improve its own functionality or just plain steal. Access to the send levels for example. All that would do is change the send-volume envelope where the item is, so it would stay compatible and not add overhead to existing framework. It could trim or steamroll the underlying send envelope. Instant fun, especially if you're doing it for multiple items. Leave space for two sends, scrollable. The EQ, just use ReaEQ, perhaps a custom version that uses less RAM. A switch to turn it on and a preset bunch of bands, and off you go. The pitch and playrate in Reapers item properties are text boxes, like we're coders or something. Knobs or simple, dragable text boxes would already do nicely. Fades could use a method to access the fade editor from the item properties. Some of the entry fields are still vanilla text boxes, which again is great for coders but not those who are only musicians or engineers. Usability. As for mono tracks, a pre-pan 1 channel capability would solve that one, though how technically feasable that is is beyond my expertise.

cough....and....ahem....VST3 meeeeeans? Sigh....this kind of thing to me is like when I see a new Plugin Or mic pre or something that I suddenly can't live without, it's like my music is pointless without it, even though I didn't even know it existed 5 minutes before.....but, now, this could be the same thing. Perhaps I thought my songs sucked because of crappy singing, or playing, or writing, or mixing.....BUT....IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THIS DAAAAAAAAAAMN VST3 THING!!! Soooooo....what's a VST3?

i get it that 64 is more than 32 but just curious why do you need all these channels? Are you trying to mix a show in one REAPER track?

To mix like we do in a Console, we mix using separate channels a console with 64 channels ( like reaper has) we can either have 64 mono tracks going all on their own channel then mix on the master with Surround hardware if we wished. In a daw this gives us more freedom, but as you can see we are limited in Reaper to 32 channels not 64 as Reaper boasts. LOL HOPI@@@

The reason why I keep mentioning the channels is not about track counts!!!! It is about sending 64 tracks to the master mixer running Reasurround and each track running on it's own channel so I can control that track in the stereo I can have say 16 stereo tracks on their own channel which would use 32 channels. Then another 32 mono tracks using their own channel = 64 channels used The problem is I can not do that with the MONO tracks as they use 2 channels not 1 It's not about track counts, it is for mixing the tracks on the master track( set at 64 channels then running Reasurround set to STEREO so I can now see and place all my tracks in their proper stereo space as I see fit This way you can visualize and hear where the issues with tracks are. That is all.

you can alternatively mix each track in its own instance of reasurround using the custom setup and setting it to 1 source, right? Then you have a single box for the track. Tracks can then mix through the master in the usual way.... Either way I just can't see the problem you are trying to solve here...

Does samplitude have item fx automation? Currently I'm finding that to be Reaper's biggest limitation. Not being able to automate a clip insert means that I have to manually do the automation and record it in another track. How do you guys go about doing this?

Do you mean automating FX that are in items? ... as a workaround you could always move the item into a child track and move the fx from the item to the track in order to automate. You could probably make a macro to do this in one action.
