Stutters under heavy acceleration...

Well i've searched the board and can't seem to find a definite cause/solution :( I noticed it when pulling onto the motorway (very short slip road) so planted my right foot in 3rd and just as the turbo is about to kick in, it stutters, so I back off, and accelerate smoothly and all seems fine ?! Now after searching, it seems it could be one of many things: Lamda Sensor Sticky Injector Ignition System - Now in the past 6 months i've had the plugs, leads, dizzy cap & rotor arm replaced, but it could still be the Ignition Coil.... MAF Seen this mentioned hundreds of times, but can't find a definition (is it Air Flow Meter in another order, or Mass Air Flow??) Idle Air Control Valve Vacuum Hose(s) Fuel System Over Boost Now I've probably missed loads off, and no doubt it would be worth getting the codes read, but even that doesn't appear to work all the time (from what i've read) :( I don't want to take it to Volvo because: a) They'll charge plenty and b) I can't get it up there for a couple of weeks I've not noticed any smoke when it happens, but I'll get someone to follow me and do it if anyone thinks that might help? So does anyone feel strongly for/against any of the above causes, and if so, why?? Thanks in advance, Joe :) P.S. It's a late '97 S70 T5 (pre ME7) with just under 85k and FVSH

I noticed mine was doing a similar thing just as the cold weather came in but this could be a red herring. I too have had the plugs leads dizzy cap and rotor changed . Mine has also got new injectors and mine did it before and after the re-map of the ECU. I you could do me a flavour please........ Mine stutters up to 4,000RPM ish then it stops for the rest of the rev range. Could you see if yours does this too please? If so then it may be a cold weather thing. Watchin this thread with interest George.

Thanks for the reply :D Yeah i'll do that and post my findings on here. I'm not too sure of the precise moment (@x000rpm) it happened but will try to get an idea tomorrow evening. Not sure about the cold weather thing, it was fine when it was down to -4c a couple weeks ago... Joe :)

Right well after testing it tonight, it did stutter at the 4000rpm mark, but continued to do so up until I changed gear at around 6000rpm. The plugs have been on for a few months so after what i've read, an air leak could be to blame? Now i'm guessing it's not going to be easy to find an air leak? Any tips on where to start?? Ta! Joe :)

Right well i've not had time to have a look myself (but thanks for the replies!), so I've booked it in at a Volvo specialist (Corner Garage) for Saturday, so hopefully will be sorted by this time next week! I'll post the findings etc when its all done, Joe :)
