Though Mac to PC interchange is not supported in the first release of LE, there are a couple unsupported workarounds. ProTools TDM under Windows NT will work with MacOpener, a utility by DataViz that allows one to read Mac disks, to let one open ProTools sessions on Mac (HFS formatted) hard drives/cd's. We had some problems with the Windows 98 version of MacOpener, so we couldn't support this functionality fully in this release. Though unsupported, there are still a few ways to sessions from the Mac to the PC using MacOpener under Win98. After installing MacOpener, if you mount a Mac (HFS) hard drive with your session on it under Windows 98, you should be able to open the session under ProTools LE, as well as import SDII files from it. It works best to open the session, then do a Save Session Copy In.. and save the session as a native PC ProTools session. Keep in mind that any plugins that are used by the session that you don't have won't be included. Opening Mac sessions saved onto PC (FAT) disks using Mac File/PC Exchange isn't supported by ProTools (only Mac sessions on Mac disks, PC sessions on PC disks). -Paul Vercellotti Digi Engineering [This message has been edited by PaulV (edited June 29, 2000).]
