Ok, the search engine doesn't work, and I've checked the compatibility docs, but I thought I'd see if I can get some real-world feedback before experimenting with my check book... Long time TDM user here. Work at major studio 10 hours a day on an HD Accel rig. Have had a personal Mix cubed TDM system for many years, but I'm finding I'm not using it much at home, and don't really want to take any outside work at home since I'm full-time employed. So I'm selling the Mix system while it stil has some value (have buyer already). I still want something to play around with at home for recording guitar/vocal scratch tracks, and occasional small editing projects. I have an old Powerbook G3 (Lombard) upgraded to a Daystar G4/400 processor, 512 mbytes RAM. I plan to replace it soon, but kind of want to wait for the next generation of powerbooks. It is running happily on OS 10.3.8. Anyone have any experience using an Mbox on such a lowly computer? I don't need a lot of tracks (maybe 16), and would like to use a few virtual instruments. Maybe an occasional live stereo recording with an external firewire drive through a cardbus PCMCIA adapter. So am I dreaming, or might this work? And don't lecture me on the non-supported aspect; I know full well such a configuration will never be officially blessed, just want to know if anyone has tried it and if it works at all, or is just a waste of time. Thanks. rcm
