mbox problems

I got my mBox last week. I'm running it on a G4 400mhz laptop w/ 256 ram. I'm having a couple of problems with it, the first being that I can't use the MBox outside of ProTools. I can't use it to play cds /mp3 in iTunes or Quicktime, and I can't get Logic 4.8 to see it either. I'm running OS 9.1. I've tried the installation several times. If anybody has any ideas I'd be stoked to hear them. -gary

Hmmm.. I tried the "select the Digidesign Output" thing in the Sound control panel, and iTunes still would not play audio. It wouldn't play period - weird - no counter/running down the track. I'd hit play, and nothing. No change. I've updated everything to 9.2.2, and have only the Mac OS Base + Digi extensions. Odd. It's not really critical, but it would be nice to not have to reboot into my normal environment every time just to hear music!

Thanks Brent. I moved those files from the cd to the systems folder > control panel, and everything works fine now, inculding iTunes. I haven't tried the Logic fix yet(thanks for that link), but I'll post results when I do. -gary
