Man, I love my 001, I hope I never have to part with it. I will use it 'til the end, which brings me to a question as to how much longer will it be supported. Will Digi support the 001 infinitly? I read somewhere that it will not much longer before the 001 will have to retired for good. Is that a rumor or is there any truth behind that? Does Digi want us 001 owners to upgrade to a more expensive system? Does anyone know why Digi stop producing the 001? That has to be the #1 selling system by far.

Mixline: Digi has publicly announced there will be no ProTools upgrades supporting the 001 beyond the current 6.4. We'll need to wait and see what happens when they do their next major release.

Didn't here about that, that sucks. So we are stuck at 6.4 or have to upgrade to atleast a 002R. Well I guess I'll stick to 6.4 until there's some major changes for updates. Like maybe more tracks or Beat Detective (wishful thinking there) What to do, what to do. So we will have to put out $1200.00 for a 002R, and I say $1200.00 because we will not be able to sell our 001 because it's useless if you can advance beyond 6.4. If you do happen to sell it to a desperate soul, you'll get crap. Then how much longer before it goes extinct? I know the 002R is a pretty recent system, but what are the intentions of Digi? I've heard so many people switching from Cubase and DP for the reason of non-support of the 001 in the near future. I didn't beleive that at all, I've always felt like Digi would always support of its products wether they are new or old. I guess just gotta sit and wait for our fate with the 001.
